Jack Black, Paul Rudd to star in new ‘Anaconda’ film: ‘We’re making a movie!’

Sony Pictures Entertainment/YouTube

Jack Black and Paul Rudd will star in a new, reimagined Anaconda film.

The duo announced the news in a hilarious video on Friday, which features the two actors on a fun set enthusiastically talking about the new project.

“Hey, what’s up people, we’re making a movie,” Black says in the video.

“Guess what it is?” Rudd continues, before Black says, “Paul Rudd and Jack Black star in the Anaconda!'”

Black then says the film will have a big snake and that “it’s going to rip!”

“You want to get scared? You want to laugh? You want to celebrate with your friends? Or maybe you’re alone and sad and have nobody but just want to forget about that,” Rudd adds before sharing the film’s 2025 release date.

“Come see our movie, Anaconda!'” Black adds.

The duo end their video with Black asking Rudd if he saw the snake for the film yet before they head off screen to see it.

Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten wrote the script for the upcoming movie, and Gormican will be directing, according to a description of the film. Brad Fuller and Andrew Form also join the film as producers.

Details about the film’s plot are still under wraps.

The first Anaconda movie, an adventure horror film, was released in 1997 and was directed by Luis Llosa. It starred Jon Voight, Jennifer Lopez, Eric Stoltz, Ice Cube and Owen Wilson. The film followed a National Geographic film crew “taken hostage by a hunter who forces them along on his quest to capture the world’s largest and deadliest snake,” according to a description of the film.

Anaconda, starring Black and Rudd, will slither into theaters Dec. 25, 2025.

‘The Housemaid’ film starring Amanda Seyfried, Sydney Sweeney gets release date

Grand Central Publishing

The Housemaid film adaptation has a release date.

On Thursday, the cast of the upcoming film shared a fun video announcing that the movie is coming to theaters on Dec. 25, 2025.

The video, which mimics a popular TikTok trend, begins with onscreen text over holiday decorations that reads, “Streets are saying the housemaid would be a perfect christmas movie.”

Cast members of the film — Amanda Seyfried, Sydney Sweeney and Brandon Sklenar — then suddenly appear onscreen, acting as if they flipped the phone’s camera around by accident before panicking and trying to flip it back.

The upcoming movie is based on author Freida McFadden‘s bestselling novel of the same name.

The logline for the film reads, “Sweeney will play Millie, a struggling young woman who is relieved to get a fresh start as a housemaid to Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew (Sklenar), an upscale, wealthy couple… but soon learns that the family’s secrets are far more dangerous than her own.”

Also starring in the film, which is directed by Paul Feig, is Subservience actor Michele Morrone.

News about the film adaptation of McFadden’s novel was first announced in October. At the time, Seyfried and Sweeney each shared the announcement on Instagram.

Tom Holland on working with Zendaya: ‘Best thing that’s ever happened to me’

Karwai Tang/WireImage via Getty Images

Tom Holland and Zendaya have made three films together, and they recently signed on for a fourth one.

Holland, who is in a relationship with Zendaya, opened up about the benefits of having his romantic partner with him on movie sets on a recent episode of the Dish podcast.

“Oh God, yeah. It’s a saving grace. Best thing that’s ever happened to me,” Holland said.

“Studios love it — one hotel room!” Holland joked when podcast host Nick Grimshaw mentioned Zendaya has talked about how she likes keeping on the same schedule as Holland. “Separate drivers,” Holland said. “We’re not crazy. It’s work, alright?”

Holland also discussed how he and Zendaya have navigated their fame during their relationship.

“It’s about being a little bit more organized, knowing where you want to go and there are restaurants that have little back rooms and stuff where you can have a more private night,” Holland said. “But at the end of the day, it’s no hardship. When people are recognizing you because they enjoy your work, it’s a pretty wonderful thing.”

The couple’s fourth film together will be Christopher Nolan‘s upcoming, untitled project. It will also star Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron and Lupita Nyong’o.

“To be perfectly honest with you, I don’t know anything about it,” Holland said. “I’m super excited. Everything is very, very hush-hush. I met with [Nolan], it was awesome. He kind of loosely pitched what it was and I’m sure when he’s ready he’ll announce what it is.”

Cillian Murphy and Barry Keoghan smile in new look from ‘Peaky Blinders’ set

ROBERT VIGLASKY/Netflix

Cillian Murphy and Barry Keoghan are all smiles in a new photo from the Peaky Blinders film set.

The pair, co-starring in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, grinned together while dressed in the show’s traditional flat caps and long coats in a new photo released by Netflix on Thursday.

In the upcoming film, Murphy reprises his role as British gangster Tommy Shelby. In August, it was announced that Keoghan joined the cast of the highly anticipated movie.

Netflix also announced that production has wrapped for the movie, which is described by the streamer as an “epic continuation of the multi-award-winning, six-season gangster saga.”

Along with Murphy and Keoghan, the cast includes Dune alum Rebecca Ferguson, Reservoir Dogs actor Tim Roth and Boiling Point actor Stephen Graham.

Murphy portrayed the gangster for six seasons between 2013 and 2022. He stars in the new film for Netflix, which was written by show creator Steven Knight and was directed by series veteran Tom Harper.

Peaky Blinders was set in Birmingham, England, between 1919 and 1934 and centered on Tommy and his family making a name for themselves on the mean streets of England.
